Woman finds Benidorm’s ‘secret tunnel’ and can’t believe what’s at end | Europe | Travel

A woman was left astounded after discovering a “secret tunnel” near Benidorm and exploring what lay on the other side.

Lucy, known as the Benidorm Enthusiast, shared her daring adventure down the mysterious tunnel on the Benidorm Stuff YouTube channel.

She explained how she had been told about a “creepy tunnel that’s tucked into the mountain side”, and had even spotted it from a boat out at sea before.

Lucy confessed she had “no idea where it goes, how long it is, if it even leads anywhere, or if there’s anything living down there”. She also explained how she didn’t want to reveal the exact location, fearing that others might go and “get stuck” in it.

The entrance to what she described as the “spooky, secret tunnel” was hidden by bushes, extremely narrow and adorned with graffiti. She joked as she stepped inside: “Who’s idea was this?!”

Once inside, Lucy faced a choice of two paths and opted for the one with a “bit of light at the end”.

As she ventured further, the tunnel became narrower and wetter. She described the smell down there as “damp”, and ducked to avoid “little holes where bats live”.

Thankfully, the tunnel started to “open up” as she and her cameraman reached the end. And what she found on the other side left her utterly amazed.

She let out a thrilled “wooooow, look at that” as she emerged from the tunnel, taking in an insane view of the Mediterranean Sea from below some cliffs.

Clearly elated, she exclaimed: “I’m absolutely over the moon that we’ve done that […] because look at that view! That is absolutely stunning. When you come out of that tunnel, wow, that literally takes your breath away.”

One commenter on the video responded: “What a view, if I went down there I’d never get back up again so a big THANK YOU.” Another fan enthused: “Fantastic adventure, really enjoyed this vlog and the view at the end of the tunnel was stunning!”
