Royal Family LIVE: Prince Harry ‘more alone than ever’ | Royal | News

Prince Harry looks “more alone” than ever in the wake of recent royal engagements, a royal commentator has claimed. In particular, the commentator was referencing the recent week of Royal Ascot events where the Royal Family joined in unity and greeted each other lovingly at the racecourse.

Royal commentator, Daniela Elser wrote in news.com.au: “Has Harry ever looked more distant and more disconnected from his family and quite simply, more alone?”

“Not only have the Sussexes not, in years of trying, gotten anything even vaguely resembling a concession or admission of wrongdoing on the palace’s part, they are now having to watch on as the royal family has never looked more united – and more welcoming to outsiders.”

Royal Ascot is a quintessential British horse racing event held annually in June at Ascot Racecourse in Berkshire, England. Steeped in history and tradition, this prestigious five-day event dates back to 1711 when it was founded by Queen Anne.

King Charles and Queen Camilla beamed at crowds as they led the carriage procession at Royal Ascot this week, and appeared in high spirits in the sunshine. Meanwhile, Prince William delighted fans by also attending the prestigious event and enthusiastically greeting his cousins.

The commentator reflected upon how in the ‘Harry and Meghan’ docuseries on Netflix, Meghan Markle talked about allegations of how unwelcoming the family were to her. Meghan told Netflix: “When Will and Kate came over … I remember I was in ripped jeans and barefoot….Like I was a hugger, always been a hugger. I didn’t realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits.”

Commenting on Princess Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton appearing at Ascot and being welcomed by the whole family, Daniela writes: “The question to ask here is, just how much of an inescapable, lonely corner has Harry backed himself?”
