Christopher Nolan’s World War II epic recreates the British evacuation of Dunkirk in June 1940, as the Nazis advanced through France. Starring an ensemble cast including Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, Mark Rylance, Michael Caine and Harry Styles in his film debut, the movie focuses in on the perspectives of the land, the sea and the air across a week, a day and an hour.
